Youthful skin depends not only on skincare and high-quality cosmetics; nutrition is also crucial. What we eat every day can either maintain skin elasticity and radiance or, conversely, trigger premature aging. To maintain a fresh and well-groomed appearance for as long as possible, it’s important to know which foods most often trigger wrinkles, dullness, and dryness. At joy-pup, we present three key foods that cosmetologists and nutritionists recommend eliminating or significantly limiting.
Sugar and Sweets

Some of the most dangerous enemies of youth are foods high in sugar. Excess sweets trigger the process of glycation, when sugar molecules damage skin proteins – collagen and elastin. As a result, skin loses elasticity faster, wrinkles appear, and the complexion becomes dull. Sweets also increase inflammation, which can trigger acne and irritation.
Processed Meat

Sausages, hot dogs, bacon, and ham contain a lot of salt, saturated fats, and preservatives (including nitrates), which cause oxidative stress. This slows cell renewal, impairs microcirculation, and negatively impacts skin tone. Regular consumption of such products leads to dryness, dullness, a tendency toward puffiness, and the appearance of spider veins. Wrinkles also become more visible and deeper.
Margarine and Trans Fats

Trans fats are another major factor in premature aging. They increase inflammation in the body, causing the skin to become more sensitive, dehydrated, and prone to microdamage. Margarine and products made with it significantly weaken the skin’s protective barrier. Research shows that trans fats accelerate the formation of wrinkles around the mouth and reduce skin elasticity.
