If you have hooded eyelids, you’ve probably encountered the situation where your eyeliner doesn’t look perfect. Even if you draw it correctly on a closed eye, it can disappear under the fold when your eye is open. So, what can you do in this case?
Hooded eyes are no reason to give up on eyeliner. While they may make it more challenging, with the right eyeliner choice, you can still create the perfect makeup look. At joy-pup, we’re sharing how to adapt your eyeliner technique to suit your unique eye shape, so you always look beautiful.
Prepping the Eyelid
First, you need to prepare your eyelid skin. Apply a primer to help your makeup last much longer.
Choosing the Eyeliner
To achieve the best result, start with eyeshadow. Use a thin, angled brush and some eyeshadow to draw a line. Then, choose your eyeliner, whether gel, liquid, or pen. This depends on your personal preference.
Drawing the Line
Start from the inner corner of the eye and carefully draw the line towards the outer corner. Try to draw it as close to the lash line as possible. Emphasize the outer corner by slightly lifting the line upward. This will visually open up your eyes. The line itself should be very thin, otherwise, it will make your eyes appear smaller.
Finishing the Makeup
Lighten the inner corner of the eye and the brow bone by applying shimmering eyeshadow. Coat your lashes well, and you can also add shimmering accents to the eye corners. This will make your eyes appear more open.
