Aging skin requires special care and proper makeup. But it can develop a problem called redness. It often occurs in the cheeks, nose, and chin, and is associated with age-related changes in capillaries, rosacea, and a reaction to cosmetics. What to do in this case? We at joy-pup tell you how to hide age-related skin redness with the help of cosmetics.
Start with proper care
Before applying makeup, it is important to soothe the skin and relieve inflammation. To do this, use a soothing toner or thermal water. Look for products with chamomile extract, Asian centella, and aloe. Also apply a light-textured moisturizer, which will create a barrier between the skin and makeup and help even out the tone.
Neutralize redness with a primer
Makeup artists recommend using a green-tinted primer, because the green pigment neutralizes red, making the skin visually calmer. Apply it pointwise, only to areas of redness. If mature skin is dry, then choose moisturizing primers with antioxidants.
Choose foundations with a light coverage

Dense, matte foundations are not recommended for women with aging skin – they emphasize wrinkles and make the face look tired. It is better to use BB or CC creams with caring components. Light foundations and products with SPF will also suit you. Apply them with a damp sponge.
Use a concealer
If the redness is very pronounced, use a concealer with a light green undertone under the foundation. Then – a drop of foundation on top and blend well. Avoid applying concealers all over your face, as this will create a mask effect.
Add light-reflecting powder and blush
Avoid powders with a reddish or pink undertone, as they will highlight the redness. Instead, use a transparent or light yellow powder. Blush should be muted peach or coral. Apply it not to the center of the cheeks, but closer to the temples – this will visually “lift” the face
You can also make distracting accents on your face. For example, add shine to the cheekbones and inner corners of the eyes, highlight your lips with warm-toned lipstick. This will make you look beautiful and hide the redness.
