Paris Fashion Week traditionally concludes the fashion month and sets the final direction for the beauty industry for the coming season. This year, beauty looks on the runways were particularly conceptual: makeup artists and stylists abandoned Instagram-perfect glamour and emphasized texture, subtle casualness, and character. At the shows of Dior, Saint Laurent, Acne Studios, Simone Rocha, and Courrèges, beauty became an extension of the collection’s message. The Fall/Winter 2026-2027 season has established several striking beauty trends that will likely define the industry for years to come.

Effortless Parisian Beauty

One of the most talked-about beauty looks of the week was the makeup at the Dior show. Peter Philips, Creative Director of Dior Makeup, was inspired by the “French girl” aesthetic: minimal makeup, natural skin, and a slightly casual feel.

Skin looked fresh and radiant, brows were kept natural, and eyes were highlighted with a soft kohl, which was lightly imprinted on the lower lid, creating a “residual” makeup effect. Hair also appeared slightly tousled, as if it had been styled the night before.

This trend confirms the cardinal rule of Parisian beauty: makeup should look as if it’s barely there.

Dark Gothic Lips

After several seasons of nude shades dominating the runways, rich lipstick is making a comeback. At Saint Laurent, Acne Studios, and Simone Rocha, models wore deep wine and plum lips. These shades create a striking contrast with porcelain skin and minimal eye makeup.

Blurred Smoky Eyes

Graphic eye makeup is giving way to a softer, more artistic version of the smoky eye. Hyper Blush

Another notable trend is intense blush. Makeup artists actively used the draping technique, where blush is applied not only to the cheeks but also blended toward the temples.

Cool berry shades, creating a “frosted cheeks” effect, were most prominent on the runways. This makeup makes the face look fresher and adds a romantic touch.
