Lumighost Arena: game development hackathon ended

On March 10 2023, Lumighost Arena contest ended, an international hackathon among gamedev specialists. Participation in the competition was free and open to anyone who wants to compete in game development.

This competition was founded this year by Lumighost, a company that creates custom games and gamified apps to order. The hackathon has received the appropriate name – “Lumighost Arena”, and it is focused on the search for new talents among the specialists of the game dev market.

The topic of the competition entries for the Lumighost Arena hackathon for 2023 is the development of Arena Gameplay Mechanic as part of the creation of an RPG game on Unity with multiplayer support. The central problem is poor, low-quality game design in multiplayer games. It is with this problem that the participants of the competition had to cope and present their solution in the form of a developed game.

The contestants fought for cash prizes, as well as the opportunity to finalize their project with professional developers for free and place the finished project in the AppStore and PlayMarket.

As stated in the rules of the competition, both single and team participation in the hackathon was allowed. The competition took place from 6 to 10 March 2023, when the names of the winners were announced. The first place was taken by Artur Kashuba, who presented the game Ghost Tanks.
