New cast members include Tati Gabrielle, known for her work in the Uncharted films and the TV series You and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, who plays Jade; Adeline Rudolph, known for her roles in Hellboy: The Hunchback of Hell and the series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Resident Evil, plays Kitana; Martin Ford (Fast & Furious 9, Red Sonja) plays Shao Kahn; and Desmond Chiam, known for his work on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, plays King Jarod.

The sequel is directed by Australian Simon McQuoid, who also helmed the 2021 film. This project marks his feature film debut after many years working in the advertising industry.
