The streaming service Netflix has revealed the release date of a new animated project set in the Stranger Things universe and unveiled the debut teaser for the series, titled “Stranger Things: Tales From ’85.”
Showrunner Eric Robles is working on the show with the original creators, brothers Matt and Ross Duffer. The animated series will take viewers back to the winter of 1985 and once again focus on beloved characters: Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max. Jim Hopper, Steve Harrington, and Nancy Wheeler will also appear in the story. According to the official description, a threat from an alternate dimension appears to have not been completely eradicated and continues to exist.
The teaser initially shows the characters returning to a relatively calm everyday life after the events of the past. However, it soon becomes clear that something sinister lurks beneath the frozen surface. The video also reveals strange and frightening creatures that begin to appear on the streets of Hawkins.
Eric Robles explained that the new monsters are the result of a peculiar fusion between scientific experiments at Hawkins Lab and matter from another dimension. According to him, it is this combination that allows these creatures to exist in our reality.
The animated series “Stranger Things: Tales From ’85” premieres on April 23rd exclusively on Netflix.
