Netflix has started filming a new adaptation of Clive Lewis’s novel “The Chronicles of Narnia”. Its director is Greta Gerwig, and the filming process itself is taking place in London. The first photos and videos from the set have already appeared online.

Netflix is planning to film the story “The Magician’s Nephew”, which is a prequel to the story “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”. The plot revolves around the young versions of the characters Digory and Polly. The story centers on the creation of Narnia by Aslan and the fascinating journeys into the mysterious worlds of the main characters.

Most likely, the events will unfold in post-war London of the 1950s. The first shots from the filming show retro cars and other authentic things.

It was announced six years ago that a new part of the cult franchise would be released. There were many rumors about who would join the cast of the spin-off. For example, it was believed that the key role of Aslan the Lion would be played by a woman, namely Meryl Streep.

Filming of the new part of “The Chronicles of Narnia” will continue in the UK over the next six months. The premiere of the film is scheduled for late 2026.
Recall that the first shots from the filming of the new “Spider-Man” have been shown.
