Warner Bros. Studio presented a new trailer for the film “The Mummy” directed by Lee Cronin.
Viewers can expect a much darker and horror-oriented version of the story about the famous monster than the unsuccessful reboot with Tom Cruise. The plot centers on a girl named Katie, who unexpectedly returns eight years after mysteriously disappearing in the desert. However, with her return, disturbing and frightening changes begin to occur.
In an interview, Lee Cronin noted that his work is not at all a classic film about the mummy.
According to him, this is not a rethinking of the usual myth, but a completely different view of history, going into darker and more unusual directions. The director describes the project as a kind of mixture, where you can catch echoes of Poltergeist and Seven, but at the same time the film retains his author’s style and unique approach to creating a tense atmosphere.
Initially, the film was developed under the leadership of Universal, but the studio eventually abandoned another attempt to restart the franchise. As a result, the project moved to Warner Bros. Moreover, at a certain stage there was even discussion about changing the name to “The Resurrected”.
