Hulu has released the first images of the new series “The Testaments,” a sequel to the popular “The Handmaid’s Tale.” The show is scheduled to premiere in April 2026.

Based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name, the new series is set in the dystopian theocracy of Gilead, several years after the events of the original show. The story centers on the coming-of-age of a new generation of girls forced to confront the harsh and grim reality of their world.

The cast includes Ann Dowd (from “The Handmaid’s Tale”), Chase Infinity (“One Battle at a Time”), Lucy Galliday (“Blue Jean”), Rowan Blanchard (“Spy Kids”), as well as Mattea Conforti, Isolde Ardis, and others.

As a reminder, the original “The Handmaid’s Tale,” based on Atwood’s 1985 novel, aired on Hulu for six seasons from 2017 to 2025 and was immensely popular with viewers.
