This winter, the streaming service Netflix will release the new series “Abandoned,” starring Gillian Anderson and Lena Headey (star of “Game of Thrones”).
The series takes place in the Washington Territory of 1854, where the destinies of two very different families are intertwined over two crimes, a piece of land containing silver, and a terrible secret.
As series producer Chris Keyser explains, it’s a classic American story. In it, two families war and love each other at the same time, battling for property and the right to set the rules. The series explores questions that seem inescapable: what makes a family? How do you remain good in a bad world? Would you change yourself and your beliefs to protect what you love?

The series also stars Nick Robinson, Aisling Franciosi, Diana Silvers, Lamar Johnson, Lucas Till, and Natalia del Riego.
Also watch the trailer for the documentary “Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home.”
