Universal Pictures has released the debut trailer for the animated film “Super Mario Bros. Galaxy Movie,” the sequel to the smash hit “Super Mario Bros. Movie.”
The new trailer introduces viewers to one of the most beloved characters in the Nintendo universe – the dinosaur Yoshi. He joins Mario’s team and, together with the heroes, embarks on a grand journey beyond the familiar worlds. The film’s plot unfolds in the cosmic dimension and offers viewers intergalactic adventures, colorful locations, and even more challenging challenges.
The animated film, like its predecessor, is based on the iconic Nintendo video game series. The new film is a direct sequel to the 2023 film, which became a true global phenomenon and grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide.
The project is once again directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, who worked on the first film. In the original voice acting, audiences will once again hear familiar voices: Chris Pratt returns as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy returns as Princess Peach, and Charlie Day as Luigi.
The premiere of the animated film “Super Mario: The Galaxy Movie” is scheduled for April 1, 2026.
