The streaming platform Netflix has released the first trailer for its new action series, “Man on Fire.”

The project is based on the 1980 novel of the same name by A.J. Quinnell. The story centers on John Kreese, a former elite mercenary in a special forces unit of the CIA who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. After completing his service, he attempts to establish a peaceful life. However, fate once again draws him into dangerous circumstances: he becomes a bodyguard for the daughter of his longtime friend, an influential businessman. When the businessman is murdered and the girl is kidnapped, Kreese becomes determined to find the culprits and embarks on a brutal fight for justice.

The series stars Yagya Abdul-Mateen II, known for his roles in the films “Us,” “Candyman,” the “Aquaman” franchise, and the series “Watchmen” and “Miracle Man.”

The project was created and served as head writer by American television producer Kyle Killen. He previously worked on the series “A Beautiful Mind,” “Wild Bill,” and “Halo,” and also co-created the popular Netflix horror series “Fear Street, Part One: 1994.”

The first season of the series will include seven episodes. All episodes are scheduled to premiere on April 30, 2026, and will be released simultaneously on Netflix.
