The streaming service Prime Video has released the debut trailer for the “Spider-Man Noir” series starring Nicolas Cage. The actor portrays an alternate, darker version of the famous superhero – Spider-Man Noir.
The series takes viewers to 1930s New York City. The story centers on private detective Ben Reilly, who is going through a difficult time in his life. His character disguises himself as a mysterious caped and fedora-wearing vigilante operating in a crime noir setting.
Cage has previously worked with the character, voicing him in the animated hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which helped propel the Noir version into widespread popularity. However, the new series is based directly on the Spider-Man Noir comics and is not connected to Sony’s animated franchise.
Harry Bradbeer, known for Fleabag and Killing Eve, directed the first two episodes and also served as executive producer. Oren Uziel (Lost City) and Steve Lightfoot (Hannibal) served as showrunners. Into the Spider-Verse creators Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal also joined the production team.
You can also watch the trailer for the film “The Ave Maria Project.”
