Searchlight Pictures has released the debut trailer for the black comedy-thriller “Wild Horse Nine.” This film marks the fifth feature from British-Irish director and playwright Martin McDonagh, known for his films “In Bruges,” “Seven Psychopaths,” “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,” and “Banshee Inisherin.”
The film is set on the eve of the 1973 Chilean coup. According to the plot, CIA agents Chris and Lee receive orders from their superior, MJ, to travel from Santiago to Easter Island. Among the iconic stone statues, the partners encounter ghosts of the past and tangled conspiracies of the present, while Chris’s unexpected encounter with two rebellious students jeopardizes the entire mission and turns the trip into a dangerous adventure.
The film stars Oscar winners John Malkovich and Sam Rockwell, familiar to audiences from numerous acclaimed projects. The cast also includes acclaimed film stars Steve Buscemi, Parker Posey, and Tom Waits, each with extensive experience and numerous prestigious awards.
The film is scheduled for worldwide release on November 6, 2026.
