20th Century Studios delighted fans of the iconic Simpson family with unexpected news – Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and baby Maggie will be back on the big screen.
The sequel to “The Simpsons Movie” has officially entered production. Moreover, the premiere date has already been announced: the new film will be released on July 23, 2027.
“Yoo-hoo! The Simpsons are returning to the big screen with a brand new story,” reads a post on the studio’s official Instagram page.
The creators also released a poster featuring the famous pink donut with the caption “Homer comes back for more.” Plot details are currently being kept under wraps. As a reminder, The Simpsons remains the longest-running animated series and sitcom in American television history. Set in the fictional town of Springfield, it follows the everyday lives of an eccentric family.
