A24 Film Studios has released the first trailer for the bold new comedy “The Invite,” created by actress and director Olivia Wilde. She is best known for her role as “Thirteen” on the series “House” (2007-2012) and as the director of the psychological thriller “Don’t Worry, Darling” (2022), starring Harry Styles and Florence Pugh.
“The Invite” is a remake of the Spanish comedy “The Men from Above” (2020). The plot centers on two neighboring married couples. Joe and Angela are going through a difficult time and are on the verge of divorce, but they decide to host a dinner for their neighbors, Pina and Hawk, who make them a very explicit proposal.
The film stars Olivia Wilde, Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton. The film’s world premiere took place in January 2026 at the renowned Sundance Film Festival.
“The Invitation” will be released in July 2026, although the exact release date has not yet been announced.
