The streaming service Netflix has released the official trailer for the new series “Ikusagami: The Last Samurai,” which is already tipped to be extremely popular. The premiere is scheduled for November 13th.
The plot takes viewers to Japan in 1878, when samurai face difficult times—poverty, disease, and a changing political system. The heroes find themselves drawn into a deadly game called “Kodoku,” where only one survivor will receive not only a substantial reward but also the opportunity to change their own destiny.
The creators note that they were inspired by the manga of the same name by Shogo Imamura, striving to reimagine its plot and visual style while preserving the unique atmosphere and aesthetics of Japanese cinema.
Production on the series began in 2022 and has received approval from the original author. The first season of “Ikusagami: The Last Samurai” will consist of six episodes, premiering on November 13 on Netflix.
