Lucasfilm has released a new trailer for “The Mandalorian and Grogu” – the first full-length project in the Star Wars universe in seven years.

The film continues the storyline of Din Djarin and his young companion Grogu, familiar to viewers from the TV series “The Mandalorian.” One of the most talked-about scenes in the trailer was the appearance of Pedro Pascal’s helmetless character. For Mandalorians, such a move is considered a serious break with tradition, so this moment clearly hints at important changes in the story’s development.

The video features a mix of new faces and familiar characters. Among them is Rotta Gatt, voiced by Jeremy Allen White. Viewers will also see cameos from characters from the franchise’s animated films and entirely new creatures. Sigourney Weaver, famous for her role as Ellen Ripley in the Alien film series, also joins the cast.

The film was directed by Jon Favreau, who worked on The Mandalorian, and co-written by Dave Filoni, one of the key creative forces behind the modern Star Wars franchise.

The worldwide release of The Mandalorian and Grogu is scheduled for May 22, 2026.
