Apple TV has released the official trailer for the new sci-fi series “Pluribus,” starring actress Rhea Seehorn.
According to Variety, the project’s creator and executive producer is Vince Gilligan, known for his iconic works “Breaking Bad,” “Better Call Saul,” and “The X-Files.” Seehorn, 53, previously collaborated with Gilligan, playing Kim Wexler in “Better Call Saul.”
The two-minute trailer makes it clear that most of humanity has been subjected to a strange influence that makes people perpetually happy and content. Only the main character, writer Carol Sturka, remains sane. It soon becomes clear that the world has been struck by a new virus that causes a constant feeling of euphoria. Carol is the only one immune and is confused as to why she remains “normal.” The President of the United States addresses her with the words, “Don’t worry, Carol. We’ll figure out what makes you different.”
The series, in addition to Rhea Seehorn, stars Carolina Vidra and Carlos-Manuel Vesga, with guest appearances by Miriam Shor, Peter Bergman, and Samba Schutte.
The first two episodes will premiere on Apple TV on November 7th. A second season has also been renewed.
As a reminder, we previously reported that Netflix will release a series about the Kennedy family.
