Focus Features has released the first trailer for the historical war drama “Pressure” The film stars Brendan Fraser, star of The Mummy and an Oscar winner for the drama “Whale,” in a key role. The actor portrays the 34th President of the United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower.

The project, a joint venture between Great Britain and France, is based on real events from World War II. The plot centers on the tense days leading up to the Allied landings in Normandy in 1944 – an operation that became a turning point in the confrontation with Nazi Germany. Three days before the start of the massive offensive, British meteorologist James Stagg must provide a weather forecast that will determine the fate of the entire operation. A mistake could jeopardize the largest amphibious landing in history, and a delay could expose the Allies’ plans to German intelligence. The final decision rests with Supreme Allied Commander Eisenhower.

Meteorologist Stagg is played by Andrew Scott, known for his roles in the TV series Sherlock, Fleabag, and Ripley, as well as the films 1917, Strangers, and Knives Out.

The cast also includes Kerry Condon (Banshee Inisherin), Chris Messina (Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)), Damian Lewis (Homeland and Billions), and other renowned actors.

The director and co-writer is Australian director Anthony Maras, who gained widespread acclaim for his thriller Hotel Mumbai.

The worldwide premiere of “Pressure” is scheduled for May 29, 2026.
