Streaming service Apple TV+ released a trailer for the historical mini-series “War Chief”, created by Jason Momoa. He also played the main role in the film.
The events of the series unfold at the turn of the 18th century, when the four main kingdoms of the Hawaiian Islands were at war. Native Hawaiian Kaiana is a noble warrior who traveled outside the island for a long time. When he returned home, he entered into a bloody war.
The mini-series is based on real events. The main character of Kaiana, the first king of Hawaii, Kamega I, and his beloved wife Kaahumana are respected historical figures on the islands.
Jason Momoa, who grew up in Hawaii, played the main role in this series and appeared in at least one episode of the show. In this way, he honors the memory of his ancestors.
The series will premiere on August 1, 2025. There will be a total of ten episodes.
