Warner Bros. has begun developing a feature-length film based on the “Game of Thrones” universe created by American author George R.R. Martin. The project is still in pre-production, but is already generating great interest among fans of the saga.

Beau Willimon, showrunner of the series “House of Cards” and one of the creators of the project “Andor,” is working on the script. He has already presented the first draft of the script to studio executives. The director and cast are currently under wraps.

Preliminary reports suggest that the plot may center on Aegon I Targaryen, the founder of the Targaryen dynasty, who, along with his sisters, conquered Westeros several centuries before the events of the original series. His story is detailed in the book “Fire and Blood,” but the character has not yet appeared in television adaptations.

It is also noted that Warner Bros. is in the process of merging with Paramount Skydance. If the management structure changes, some projects in development may be reconsidered or cancelled. Nevertheless, “Game of Thrones” remains one of the company’s key franchises, so the likelihood of a film being made is considered quite high.

As a reminder, the series “Game of Thrones” (2011–2019) became a true cultural phenomenon. Over its eight seasons, viewers witnessed the great houses of Westeros clashing in their battle for the Iron Throne, and the show received worldwide recognition and numerous prestigious awards. Following its conclusion, HBO focused on expanding the universe through prequels and new stories.

As a reminder, the first trailer for “Scary Movie 6” has been released.
