Artificial intelligence can destroy humanity with a 95% probability if we continue to use it according to the current scenario. This is the opinion of Nate Soares, a former Google and Microsoft engineer, and now president of the Machine Intelligence Research Institute.
He notes that if we do not deviate from the current course, then the chances of avoiding death are practically zero. After all, we are rushing towards the cliff at a speed of 100 km / h. This opinion is supported by Nobel Prize winner Geoffrey Hinton, mathematician Yoshua Bengio, as well as the heads of OpenAI, Anthropic and Google DeepMind.

They have already signed a statement that talks about reducing the risk of human extinction due to artificial intelligence along with pandemics and nuclear threats.
The concerns are about the possible emergence of superintelligent artificial intelligence that will be capable of deception, planning, and getting out of control. At the moment, it can already lie, and its internal processes are not always clear to people.
Earlier, we wrote that the CEO of OpenAI urges people not to trust ChatGPT when making important decisions.
