The legendary French actor Alain Delon, who died on August 18, has long talked about where he wants to be buried.
Six years ago, in an interview with Gala, he said that he dreams of being buried in a crypt next to the chapel, which stands opposite the dog cemetery on the territory of the family estate La Brulerie in the commune of Douchy. This estate is located 140 km southeast of Paris.
The actor lived here most of the year since 1971. He bought real estate with a huge castle, which is located in the middle of the site. This building is of historical value and rises above the Ouen Valley. The estate became a refuge for the actor, where he lived surrounded by his dogs.
Despite the fact that the actor owned a three-story apartment in Paris with a terrace and a view of the Eiffel Tower, he preferred solitude. Local residents remember how in the 70-80s he visited a nearby pharmacy, the only restaurant and even an annual school holiday with actress Mireille Darc.
The actor’s children, Anthony Alain-Fabien and Anoushka, left the family nest. That is why the dogs became his closest companions. When an animal died, the owner buried them in a cemetery that he himself built for his pets. In an interview, he said that there are already 35 graves there. And when he dies, he wants to be buried among his animals.
According to Alain Delon, dogs were the only ones who loved him unconditionally, were always there and did not ask for anything in return.
At the moment, the exact date of Alain Delon’s funeral has not yet been announced. But the actor’s family said the ceremony would be closed.
