Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin is on trial for the unintentional murder of cameraman Galina Hutchins on the set of Rust. Mary Carmack-Altvis, Attorney for the City of Santa Fe, New Mexico, made a statement to this effect. She noted that no one is above the law, and everyone deserves justice.
Weapons expert Hannah Gutierrez-Reid will also be judged. She was in charge of the props during the filming of the film.
The prosecutor noted that Alec Baldwin, who is also the film’s producer, and the weapons expert will meet in court on two counts of manslaughter. There is enough evidence to take the case to court.
The claim to the actor was put forward until the end of January. If found guilty, the defendants face 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Recall that the tragic incident occurred on the set of the film Rust on October 21, 2021. Alec Baldwin accidentally shot cameraman Galina Hutchins and also wounded director Joel Souza. The prop pistol was loaded.
