Amy Winehouse’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil admitted that he feels guilty for the singer’s death. She died on July 23, 2011 as a result of a heart attack caused by alcohol intoxication. At the time of her death, the singer was 27 years old.
On September 14, on Good Morning Britain, the man said that if he could turn back time, he would do everything differently. He also noted that Amy was not only his lover, but also his best friend.
The actor also said that he continues to think about the singer.
“I think about her all the time, I thought about her this morning when I mentally congratulated her on her birthday… If not for certain factors, I think the result could have been different. Everything happened very quickly for Amy. We were so young…” the actor added.
Blake also admitted his indirect guilt in the singer’s death. He said that it is normal that other people blame him. But he wants to stop carrying this burden. The actor admits that he made some big mistakes. It was all due to drug addiction.
Let us remember that in 2005 the actor met the singer, and in 2007 the couple got married. In 2008, Blake was sentenced to 27 months in prison for assault. The couple broke up some time after the actor was released from prison.
