French actor Gerard Depardieu was found guilty of sexual assault against two women who worked on the set of the film “Green Shutters”. The actor starred in it in 2021.
This decision was made by a court in Paris. And the trial began at the end of March and lasted four days. The prosecutor requested an 18-month suspended sentence and a fine of 20,000 euros.
The prosecution was made by 54-year-old decorator Amelie and a 34-year-old assistant director. They sued the artist in early 2024 under articles on sexual assault, harassment and sexist insults. The actor faced up to five years in prison and a fine of up to 75,000 euros.

The first woman claims that Depardieu grabbed her by the waist and pulled her towards him while he was sitting. After that, he pinned her between his legs and ran his hands over her buttocks, genitals and breasts. And the second claims that the actor touched her breasts and buttocks three times when she was leading him from the dressing room to the set in Paris.
Depardieu initially categorically denied sexual harassment, but his testimony changed regarding the story with Amelie. He said that he grabbed her by the waist so as not to slip. Later, he claimed that he did it to get her attention, to tell her a remark about her poor work.
