The controversial 47-year-old rapper Kanye West is in trouble again. A team of programmers filed a lawsuit against him and his business manager, Milo Yiannopoulos. They are accused of forced labor and cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment.
The rapper had eight employees, including minors. The programmers were from different countries and were hired to develop an application for the YZYVSN streaming service. The musician planned to upload the albums Vultures and Vultures 2 there. But West and his assistant forced employees to work overtime and also ridiculed them on racial grounds.
The complaints began in the spring of 2024. Milo promised the developers $120,000 if they completed work on the application, agreed to the working conditions, and did not complain. But after that, the rapper allegedly ordered employees to sign non-disclosure agreements and threatened to fire minors.
On May 1, a team of programmers allegedly finalized one of the applications and sent it to the rapper. But the artist did not pay them, forcing them to file a lawsuit demanding damages. By the way, according to the information in the documents, West required minors to sign volunteer agreements. The white managers then created a hostile work environment because there were black employees on the development team. They even called some of them slaves.
In addition, another interesting fact is known. When the rapper announced he was starting an adult film business, Bianca Censori allegedly sent the employee a link containing violent pornography. It was available to minors who worked on the project.
