American actress Diane Ladd has died. The actress, known for her roles in the film “Wild at Heart” and the TV series “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore,” has passed away at the age of 89.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, her daughter, actress Laura Dern, announced the news of her death. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.

“My incredible heroine and most precious gift—my mother—passed away on the morning of November 3rd at her home in Ojai, California. I was there. She was an amazing daughter, mother, grandmother, and actress. We were blessed to have her in our lives. She is now among the angels,” Laura wrote.

Diane Ladd began her television career at 24, appearing in projects such as Perry Mason, The Fugitive, and Gunsmoke. She soon won a prestigious Golden Globe for her role in Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, and won a BAFTA Award.

Ladd later received numerous accolades from critics and film industry officials: she was nominated twice for an Oscar for her roles in Wild at Heart and Faint Rose, in which she starred alongside her daughter, Laura Dern. Her final film role was the drama Gigi & Nate, released in 2022.
