Hollywood star Rose McGowan has made scathing accusations against the leadership of the cult series Charmed, alleging psychological pressure, threats, and humiliating treatment during the filming of the project.

The actress made several explosive confessions on the podcast We Need to Talk. According to McGowan, her participation in the show was accompanied by strict control by the producers, especially regarding her appearance. She claims she was strictly forbidden from gaining weight and was regularly tested before filming began. During that period, the actress admits, she felt less like a person and more like an object, lacking personal boundaries. According to Rose, the scrutiny was so intrusive that it caused her intense discomfort: project representatives literally surrounded her, assessing her physical condition, which she compared to inspecting merchandise.

McGowan also alleged blackmail by producers. The actress claims she was not allowed to leave the series voluntarily. She claims management threatened her with lawsuits and serious financial consequences if she refused to participate. She was allegedly told that any earnings outside the show would be confiscated, and the pressure could even extend to her family members.

Journalists reached out to the creators of Charmed for an official comment, but by the time of publication, no response had been received. Meanwhile, controversy erupted online around the actress’s claims. Some users questioned their veracity, pointing out that the appearance of another actress on the show, Holly Marie Combs, changed noticeably throughout the seasons, which, they believe, suggests a lack of strict control. Rose McGowan joined the cast of Charmed in 2001, replacing Shannen Doherty. She remained with the show until its final season and played a key role in its history.
