British actor, 24-year-old Alexander Westwood, who starred in the Netflix series Sex Education, was found guilty at Wolverhampton Crown Court of 26 sexual offences against women and children. He will be sentenced in February 2025.
At his trial, Alexander Westwood was described as the ultimate manipulator and a “rotten apple”. He used his position as an acting teacher to profit from his students.
Prosecutors added that sexual abuse was part of Westwood’s “way of life”. He had been into pornography since childhood, and committed his first crime at the age of 10. The prosecutor also spoke about two teenage girls who turned to the actor for help in acting. But they were forced to perform “the most inappropriate scenes” and were systematically abused for many years.
Between November 2020 and September 2021, the actor repeatedly raped one of the girls, who studied at a drama school in Birmingham. He touched her and himself, raped her and discussed a sex scene from the film Frankie and Johnny (1991) and a masturbation scene from Bridgerton. He also took naked photos of the girl on his tablet.
When the girl refused intimacy, he told her to do as the teacher told her. The girl refused to go to his classes, but then Westwood presented an agreement, which the prosecutor called “a coercive instrument to keep the girl in line.” It said the girl would owe the actor thousands of pounds if she did not continue to attend his lessons.
The actor abused another teenager from May to August 2021. Other incidents of abuse included forcing a young girl he had tormented for seven years to drink his urine.
