The court has identified the person responsible for the murder of cameraman Galina Hutchins during the filming of the film “Rust” with Alec Baldwin. The film’s props manager, Hannah Gutierrez-Reid, was charged with murder.

The jury returned its verdict on March 6 after two weeks of testimony about security breaches during filming. Hannah Gutierrez-Reid was in charge of the props, including the weapon, which turned out to be loaded with live ammunition. It was the one Baldwin used to shoot Hutchins.

The woman was acquitted of a separate charge of tampering with evidence. She faces up to 18 months in prison when she is sentenced, expected in April. She was taken into custody, where she will remain until sentencing.

Prosecutors, in particular, said that the gunsmith did not fulfill her duties properly. But Hannah’s lawyers insisted the prosecution lacked evidence. But it did provide evidence that the prop operator took a box of her own ammunition with her from her home in New Mexico, which was mixed with blanks. Thus, due to the irresponsibility and negligence of the gunsmith, the cartridge ended up in the prop revolver. Nim Alec Baldwin killed the cameraman.
