Household appliance manufacturer Midea unveiled the new industrial humanoid Miro U – an unusual robot with six manipulators, which the company plans to implement on its production lines by the end of this year.

Midea engineers abandoned the classic humanoid form. Miro U retains only the head and body, and instead of the usual two arms, it has six. Instead of legs, it has a mobile platform capable of 360° rotation, providing high maneuverability.

The company notes that this architecture expands the machine’s functionality and enables it to perform tasks physiologically inaccessible to humans.

The robot’s two lower limbs are designed for lifting and carrying heavy components. Meanwhile, the upper arms can simultaneously perform tasks requiring exceptional precision. Thanks to Miro U, Midea expects to increase productivity by approximately 30% on its washing machine assembly line.

As a reminder, the humanoid robot recently set a Guinness World Record.
