Amazon has introduced the world’s first robotic arm, Project Vulcan, that not only sees objects, but also senses them using tactile sensors. It senses shape, material, and pressure when grasping an object. Thanks to this, it can work with millions of items without damaging the packaging or reducing speed.

Such robots are already working in the brand’s warehouses. There, they help sort and pack orders along with other machines. The robot processes about 75% of the product range, making it as productive as a human. It works together with people, making productivity even more efficient. At the same time, it does not replace workers, but simply relieves them of some of the physical strain and improves warehouse safety.
