Apple has officially introduced the budget smartphone iPhone 16E, which lacks the Home button and the classic Touch ID sensor. Instead, it received Face ID, an improved design and an A18 chip. The gadget also supports proprietary Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence tools.
The iPhone 16E is the “brother” of the iPhone SE, but now the manufacturer has abandoned the outdated design. Its appearance is based on the iPhone 14, so instead of large frames and a Home button, there is a cutout for Face ID.
In addition, the new model received a 6.1-inch OLED screen, so its dimensions are almost identical to the iPhone 16. Another feature of the new smartphone is the presence of a customizable Action Button. It also uses a universal USB-C connector.
The gadget runs on the A18 chipset, which makes it very powerful for running a set of artificial intelligence tools, which also includes notification summaries. The base storage is now 128 GB.
The smartphone has only one 48 MP camera on the back. Wireless charging, dust and water protection are provided. The iPhone 16E became the first smartphone from Apple to have a modem built into it, developed by the manufacturer itself. To do this, it spent years creating such a modem in order to abandon Qualcomm. The phone is already available for pre-order at a price of $ 599.
