China held Robo League – the first football tournament among fully autonomous humanoid robots. They acted independently, without the help of operators, and relied only on artificial intelligence.

There were two halves in the matches, each lasting 10 minutes. Robots played three on three, fell and stumbled. The team of students from Tsinghua won.

Humanoids ran around the field on their own, recognizing the ball with an accuracy of over 90% at a distance of up to 20 meters. They determined the boundaries of the field, the position of the goal, teammates and opponents. The only difficulties arose with avoiding obstacles. Now the Chinese plan to hold such matches on a regular basis.

Let us also recall that a humanoid robot for cleaning hotels was created in China.
