Google intends to combine Android and Chrome OS into a single operating system. These plans were confirmed by one of the corporation’s executives, Samir Samat. At the moment, they are studying how people benefit from a bundle of different Apple gadgets in order to develop a convenient ecosystem and bypass the competitor in this aspect.
The merger of operating systems will simplify the development of both platforms, improve application support and speed up the implementation of new features, especially based on artificial intelligence. At the moment, developers are forced to adapt applications separately for Chrome OS and Android, which requires resources and time.
It is still unclear when exactly the launch of the new operating system will take place. But, according to rumors, Google is preparing to release its own Pixel laptop based on the updated platform. But a full transition will take several years.
