The US robotics company Figure has unveiled humanoid robots that walk more smoothly and naturally, resembling a human gait.

As the company noted, their developers have unveiled a natural gait controller that is trained exclusively in simulation using end-to-end reinforcement learning. This allows a fleet of robots to quickly learn reliable proprioceptive movement strategies and enables rapid cycles of engineering iterations.

In developing such robots, Figure relied on reinforcement learning in a physical stimulator. This is a special AI approach where the controller learns through trial and error using a reward signal. It enabled the humanoid robot to walk with a gait similar to a human.

Robots can show movements similar to humans: heel strikes, toe pushes, and synchronized arm swings. Thanks to AI, robots can interpret and respond to commands in real time, control unexpected objects, and collaborate effectively.

Recall that Neura Robotics recently announced the creation of the best robot in the world.
