In China, in the city of Hangzhou, a boxing tournament between humanoid robots was held for the first time. They were broadcast on television, and the robots themselves performed in a real ring.
Humanoids from Unitree Robotics took part in the tournament. Referees and live commentators also took part. Spectators saw a real fight, with knockouts. Robots equipped with LiDAR sensors and a depth camera performed complex combinations, demonstrated knee strikes, and hooks. Teams of engineers controlled the robots using voice commands and controllers. The robot that could not get up in 8 seconds lost.
These competitions were experimental, but in the future, robots may become real athletes.
Recall that Elon Musk showed a dancing robot from Tesla.
