Apple crumble is one of the most popular desserts, which combines the tenderness and aroma of apples, as well as a crispy crust of dough. It is quite easy to prepare, even in the home kitchen. We at joy-pup offer a recipe for making apple crumble.
Ingredients
For the filling:
- Apples – 5-6 pcs.
- Sugar – 50 g
- Cinnamon – 1 tsp.
- Lemon juice – 1 tbsp.
For the crumble:
- Wheat flour – 150 g
- Sugar – 100 g
- Butter (cold) – 100 g
- A pinch of salt
- Vanilla sugar – 1 tsp (optional)
Step-by-step recipe for apple crumble
- Wash the apples, peel them and remove the core. Cut them into small slices (about 0.5-1 cm thick).
- In a large bowl, mix the apples with sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. This will add flavor and prevent the apples from browning. Stir gently so that all the apples are evenly coated.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, sugar and a pinch of salt. Cut the cold butter into small cubes and add to the flour mixture.
- Use your fingers to rub the mixture into crumbs. Do this quickly so that the butter does not melt and the crumble is crumbly. If desired, add vanilla sugar for a stronger flavor.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. Place the prepared apples in a baking dish, distributing them evenly along the bottom. Sprinkle the crumble on top of the apples, trying to cover the entire surface of the dish.
- Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, until the top of the crumble is golden and crispy. The crumble is ready when the apples are soft and the crumble is golden brown.
- Remove the apple crumble from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve the dessert warm. You can complement it with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
