Our condition largely depends on what we eat. And sometimes, the usual food combinations can be very dangerous, causing flatulence, bloating, a feeling of heaviness and other unpleasant symptoms. We at joy-pup will tell you what you should give up. Read also how to properly control your appetite.
Proteins and carbohydrates

The combination of animal proteins (meat, fish, eggs) with carbohydrates (potatoes, bread, pasta) is considered one of the most problematic. Proteins require an acidic environment for digestion, while carbohydrates require an alkaline environment. When such products are consumed simultaneously, the digestive process slows down, fermentation processes increase, bloating and a feeling of heaviness may occur.
It is better to combine protein products with non-starchy vegetables. Carbohydrates can also be consumed with vegetables or vegetable fats.
Fruits and dairy products

Fruits contain fruit acids and sugar, which begin to ferment quickly in the stomach if left for a long time. Dairy products, especially whole milk and fermented milk drinks, are digested slowly. If you eat them together, for example in the form of fruit yogurt, this can lead to indigestion, bloating and gas.
It is better to eat fruit separately from dairy products – 30-60 minutes before or 1.5-2 hours after.
Different types of proteins

Different types of proteins require a different set of digestive enzymes. Simultaneous consumption of, for example, meat and eggs or fish and cheese increases the load on the digestive tract and can provoke slow digestion and discomfort.
It is better to consume only one source of animal protein at a time.
Simple sugars and starches

Combinations of starches and sugars (for example, sweet pastries or jam pies) promote active fermentation and gas formation in the intestines. Simple sugars are quickly absorbed, but when taken together with starches, the process slows down and is disrupted.
It is better to limit such combinations, especially if you have sensitive digestion.
Alcohol and fatty foods

Eating fatty foods in combination with alcohol significantly increases the load on the liver and pancreas. Fatty foods are digested slowly, and alcohol stimulates the production of gastric juice and can increase irritation of the gastric mucosa.
When drinking alcohol, give preference to light snacks with a minimum fat content.
