Ingredients:
- Eggs – 2 pcs.
- Salt – to taste.
- Ground pepper – optional.
- Toast bread or greens for serving.
Step-by-step recipe for cloud-shaped fried eggs
- Carefully separate the eggs into whites and yolks. Transfer the yolks into separate small bowls, trying not to damage them. Place the egg whites in a deep bowl.
- Add a pinch of salt to the egg whites. Beat them with a mixer or whisk until stiff peaks form. The mixture should be airy and hold its shape.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and grease it with a small amount of oil (optional). Place the egg whites on the parchment, forming two “clouds”. Make a depression in the center of each for the yolk.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. Place the egg whites in the oven for 3-5 minutes until they are lightly browned. Carefully remove the baking sheet and place the yolks in the depressions.
- Return to the oven for another 2-3 minutes until the yolks set but remain slightly runny.
- Transfer the “cloud egg” to a plate using a spatula. Sprinkle with ground pepper and garnish with herbs. Serve with toast, vegetables or a fresh salad.
