Yakisoba is one of the most famous dishes of Japanese cuisine, which is loved by gourmets all over the world. Ingredients
- Yakisoba noodles or any other Asian wheat noodles — 200 g
- Peeled shrimp — 200 g
- Carrots — 1 piece
- Bell pepper — 1 piece
- White cabbage — 150 g
- Green onions — 2-3 feathers
- Garlic — 2 cloves
- Soy sauce — 3 tbsp
- Oyster sauce — 2 tbsp
- Ketchup — 1 tbsp (optional)
- Sesame oil — 1 tbsp (can be replaced with vegetable oil)
- Olive or vegetable oil — for frying
- Salt and pepper — to taste
- Sesame seeds — for decoration
Step-by-step preparation
- Boil the noodles according to the instructions on the package. After cooking, rinse with cold water and lightly grease with oil to prevent sticking.
- Cut the carrots into thin strips, remove the seeds from the bell pepper and cut into strips. Chop the cabbage finely, chop the garlic finely. Cut the green onions into diagonal slices.
- Heat a little oil in a frying pan or wok. Quickly fry the shrimp for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Place them on a plate.
- Add a little oil to the same pan if necessary. Fry the garlic until fragrant, then add the carrots and bell pepper. Fry over high heat for 2-3 minutes. Then add the cabbage and cook for another 2 minutes, until the vegetables are slightly softened but still crisp.
- Add the noodles and fried shrimp to the vegetables. Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce and, if using, ketchup. Stir everything together quickly so that the noodles are evenly coated with the sauce. Add the green onions, stir again, and heat everything together for about a minute.
- Divide the yakisoba among bowls. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and, if desired, garnish with fresh herbs. Serve with lime wedges for extra freshness.
