Dacha in English: how does it differ from ours

In England, plots for a garden and a vegetable garden are organized right within the city. The authorities simply cannot allocate places for city dwellers to enjoy summer cottages in the suburbs and the countryside: they belong to farms. Another interesting feature is the high fence that is absent in our usual high fence. It is customary for the British to let a low hedge around their site.

Place for May holidays

The formula “May holidays = dacha + kebabs” causes a joyful rumbling, it seems, from all bellies. The Soviet people started the tradition of celebrating May Day at the dacha immediately with the receipt of the coveted suburban land plots.
