Denzel Washington Becomes a Pastor

The popular American actor Denzel Washington was baptized and received a pastor’s license on the eve of his 70th birthday. The ceremony took place at the Kelly Temple Church of God in Christ, which is located in Harlem, New York.

The actor’s wife Pauletta Washington was present at the baptism. She spoke with tears in her eyes about Denzel’s spiritual path and how proud she is that he is taking such an important step in his career.

Recall that a little over a month ago, the Oscar winner spoke about religion in Hollywood and called it unfashionable in his essay. He recalled his first visit to church, which changed his life, at the suggestion of actor and director Robert Townsend. Denzel Washington called this experience the greatest moment in his life and the filling of the Holy Spirit.
