Famous British actress Julia Ormond accused Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein of rape. By the way, he is serving a prison sentence for raping other actresses.
The star filed a lawsuit in the New York Supreme Court. In it, she claims that Weinstein sexually assaulted her in December 1995. Then they had a business dinner at a restaurant. And then the producer refused to resolve business issues in the establishment, so he took the actress to her apartment.
In his apartment, the producer undressed and forced Julia to perform oral sex with him. Variety writes about this.
The actress also sued Miramax, which belonged to Weinstein, and the Walt Disney Company, which bought the producer’s company in 1993. The Hollywood agency CAA, which then represented the interests of Julia Ormond, will also appear in court.
She said she reported the rape to her agents. But they refused to make the incident public and threatened her that it would ruin her career.
Weinstein himself denies all accusations. His lawyer claims that the producer is confident that the allegations will not be proven in court.
Recall that in 2017, actress Ashley Judd accused Weinstein of harassment. After this, other artists spoke about sexual violence on his part.
