The former lead singer of the once popular Spice Girls, Melanie C, spoke about being sexually assaulted before the band’s first performance. She shared her memories on the How To Fail podcast.
The singer remembered that it happened in Istanbul. There the group had their first concert. Before that, Melanie C decided to book a massage at a hotel, and there she was raped by a massage therapist.
Since at that time Melanie C was preparing for the debut performance of the group, and she so wanted a concert, she did not tell anyone about what was happening. She immediately tried to forget everything that had happened. After all, she needed to focus on completely different things. The singer had no desire to make a fuss, and there was no time for this either. Therefore, she kept silent.
But now she wants to talk about it in her autobiography. According to Melanie C, this will help draw attention to such incidents. At the time, she felt vulnerable, offended, embarrassed.
