Three people have been arrested in connection with the death of 31-year-old former One Direction member Liam Payne. Recall that the singer tragically died after falling from the balcony of the CasaSur Palmero Hotel in Buenos Aires on October 16.
According to a statement by Argentina’s state prosecutor, Andres Esteban Madrea, it became known that unlawful conduct was discovered during the investigation, after which three people were charged with crimes related to abandonment of a person resulting in death, supply and assistance in the distribution of drugs.
The three people who were arrested were placed under formal suspicion. They were not formally charged. But if found guilty, they could face up to 15 years in prison.
Among those arrested is a friend of the singer, who is accused of abandoning a person resulting in death. This could be Rogelio “Roger” Nores, who accompanied Liam in the days before his death. Also among the suspects are two hotel workers who, according to investigators, supplied Liam with cocaine and other drugs.
According
to the toxicology report, Liam consumed alcohol, cocaine, and a prescribed
antidepressant during the last 72 hours of his life. The cause of death was
multiple injuries, internal and external bleeding. Experts concluded that the
singer could have fallen from the balcony while in a semi-conscious or
