American actor, 70-year-old Pierce Brosnan, who played in the James Bond films, will pay a fine. He pleaded guilty to illegally hiking in an environmentally sensitive area last November, a prohibited part of Yellowstone National Park.
During the walk, the actor left the hiking trail in the thermal area. As a result, he faced a hefty fine, a prison sentence, and a ban from visiting the park. But he was able to get away with a $500 fine. He will also make a $1,000 donation to Yellowstone Forever.
According to the Wyoming State Attorney’s Office, the actor came to Yellowstone on a personal visit. It was spotted on November 1 in the Mammoth Terraces in the northern part of the national park. There are hot springs there, and it is dangerous to be there. Anyone who risks violating the stay order risks severe burns.
